This is a real Packet Day packet, made for a grade 4 learner named Kai. Every page is here, even the parent answer key. You don't need to sign up to look.

Every page, start to finish

Swipe, tap the arrows or use your arrow keys. This is exactly what Kai's packet looks like, down to the last page, which is just for you.

This was Kai's fifth packet, which is why it says Episode 5. Packet Day keeps count, so each kid's packets start to feel like a little series of their own.

  • The cover. Nova the robot rover gives Kai today's mission: land safely on Mars.
  • Today at a glance: six activities, 133 minutes, and a short note for you.
  • Fueling up for the Mars landing: two digit multiplication, long division and 3/4 of the rock samples.
  • Draw and solve: an area model for 27 rows of 13 solar panels.
  • Reading: Kai and Nova touch down on Mars and collect rock samples near a giant crater.
  • Six questions about the story, from why Mars is red to why Kai could bounce so high.
  • Writing: Kai writes a mission log about a first full day on Mars.
  • Puzzle break: a space crossword, with a joke of the day.
  • Movement break: blast off, moonwalk, and bounce like Kai on Mars.
  • Science: drop a flat sheet and a crumpled ball, then work out how high you could jump on Mars.
  • More science: how the Sun's gravity keeps planets in orbit, and walking on Jupiter versus Mars.
  • Coloring page: Kai and Nova explore the red rocks of Mars.
  • Daily reflection: Nova says Episode 5 is complete, and Kai answers one last question.
  • The certificate, with a spot for your signature and Kai's.
  • Parent answer key: every answer, including the finished crossword. You don't have to print it.

Nova the robot rover, with big round eyes, a tiny astronaut helmet and a blinking antenna, rolling on chunky wheels.

Meet Nova

Nova is a little robot rover with big round eyes and a blinking antenna. On the cover Nova gives Kai the mission: land safely on Mars and collect rock samples. In the reading Nova scoops up rocks while Kai bounces in the low gravity, and the certificate ends with “Nova is proud of you, Kai.”

Every packet invents its own character.

Same theme, different grade

We made the same outer space packet for three kids in three grades. Tap a grade to see how the math, the reading and the puzzle change.

Every kid gets a different packet

Oliver once asked for only Megalodons three days in a row. He got three different packets.

A note from Andy

Before I took Oliver camping in the White Mountains at the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, we made a few Packet Day packets about bristlecone pines, stargazing and constellations. Then we saw the real thing. The stars were amazing. Oliver pointed out the Big Dipper and the Milky Way, and he was blown away. He loved it, maybe not quite as much as the s'mores.

What parents tell us

“What a genius way to foster our kids' interests and let them learn through the things they naturally love.”

C
Chanty
Homeschool mom of three

“My 7-year-old wants rainbows and unicorns. My 10-year-old wants military history and nothing else. They each get exactly what they want and I'm not planning two different school days anymore.”

B
Bridget J.
Mom of 2, ages 7 and 10
“I watch my grandkids during the week and I was curious whether the AI could really do it. It can. I've been using it to fill in around what their moms are already teaching, and the kids ask for it.”

Grandmother of 6 school-age grandchildren

Questions parents ask

What does it cost?

You can start for free. Free is 1 packet a month, no card needed. Unlimited is $9 a month billed annually ($108 a year) or $12 month to month.

Are these made by AI?

Yes, AI writes each packet from scratch around your kid's grade and the theme you type in. We are a homeschool family, and our own kids test packets all the time. They are good, and they are not perfect, so skim it before you print. The parent answer key makes checking the work quick.

How long does a packet take?

A packet takes a minute or two to make and fills roughly 2 to 5 hours of school with breaks. It runs 11 to 17 pages, and you can print it right away. Every packet is also emailed to you, so it is easy to find later.

Which grades?

Packet Day makes packets for kindergarten through grade 8. The reading, math and writing are matched to your kid's grade level. The grade toggle above shows the same outer space theme made for grades 1, 4 and 7.
